Belgrade

General Information :

Belgrade is the largest city and capital of Serbia. The city emerged in 4800 BC and is one of the oldest cities of Europe. Belgrade is also one of the most beautiful cities of Europe and the Turks gave the name of this city. The city is famous among the tourists' for its cuisine and the inhabitants are rather friendly and welcoming. The city has a status of a separate territorial unit in Siberia. It covers an area of 359.96 square km with a population of 1,576,124. It is the hub of economy, education and science of Siberia. Belgrade is divided into 17 municipalities. Among them 10 are with urban status and 7 with suburban status. The most economically developed city of Serbia is Belgrade and it has been growing strongly since 2000.

Transportation :

The public transport system in Belgrade is generally based on buses, trolley buses and trams. It also has a railway network. The main Railway Station connects this city with the other European cities. Another popular transport system is by coaches.

Tourist Attractions :

The most important place to go in Belgrade is Kalemegdan. There are a number of parks, zoo and castles present in this region.
Planning for a religious tour would take the tourists to St. Sava Temple.
The centre of the city is Skadarlija. The streets and the plaza present here are undoubtedly attractive and the tourists have a good shopping experience in this area.
Another excellent place to visit is the House of Flowers Marshal Tito Memorial which is situated in the region of Kuca Cveka.
