General Information:
The city of Yerevan is the capital of Armenia is 210 kilometers in size and located 40 degrees North and 44 degrees East. The city is divided into three parts- Yerevan Small Center (one thousand metres above sea level), Monument Sector and Nork Marash Sector.

Yerevan enjoys continental climate. The summers are very hot reaching at times over 40 Celsius, the winters very cold, and the humidity is very low year-round.
There is Archaeological evidence, which throws light on the fact that site on which Yerevan stands now have historical importance. Yerevan was a junction in the caravan routes from Europe to India. Yerevan passed between Persia and Turkey, and then it was finally passed on to Russia in 1828. Yerevan became the capital of the independent Republic of Armenia in 1991 after the break of Soviet Union.
