Transportation:

Minibuses connect the center to the suburban districts; barring the bus to the Friendship Bridge, buses plying to other routes are vain. Bicycles are perhaps the best way to get around the city. Most guesthouses and hotels arrange for bike rental as the city's flat terrain makes for good biking, though one-way streets can be problematic to decipher. Nevertheless, take extra caution as you go biking, dubious poodles might entrap you. In the cold seasons, the best bet would be to tour the city on foot. There are battalions of Taxis and jumbo or Tuk- Tuk both of which can be hired if you have to cover huge distances.

Shopping:
Morning Market is also known as Talat Sao.There are two floors: the first floor sells mostly textiles, electronics, and watches; the second floor has clothing, gold, and jewelry. It is open until 4pm and is a storehouse of Exotic wares.

Vientiane Department Store sells most of imported stuffs from other Asian places.
