General Information:
Capital of Saudi Arab and one of the larger cities of Middle East is a virtual oasis of glass and Bricks. Riyadh occupies an area of 1,600 Sq Km with a census of 3,000,000. Riyadh was founded by Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud in the early 20th century. The climate of Riyadh is desiccated and it is hot most of the time in the year with little or no rain. Best time to visit is from November to February when the climate is mild, with cool evenings. Saudi Arabia is known not to issue Tourist Visas so you can only visit the country when a resident of the country sponsors you and if you are on a Business visit to the country.

Al Bathaa is the in the heart of the oldest quarters of the City. Tourists are satisfied by the Basic Tourist facilities provided by the place.
Riyadh Zoo is the local leisure spot of the City.
Originally formed in 1957, the zoo has been renovated recently. However, not of much interest to the foreigners, it is a popular leisure centre in the city.
Masmak Fortress built in 1865 is refurnished and given a rich look for the incoming Tourist.

Al Thumairi Gate is one of the nine gates in the city, before the city walls were torn down in 1950.

Ruins of Dir'aiyah are situated around 30 km north of the city and the most popular archaeological site in the country.
There is a camel market situated at a distance of around 30 km out of the city. It is the largest camel market in Middle East and a fascinating site.
