Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, is located on northwest of java having an area of about 661.52sq km. formerly known as Sunda Kelapa, Jayakarta and Batavia this largest city of Indonesia has developed for more than 490 years becoming the 9th most populated city having a populace of about 8,792,000.In its days of origin the city was simply a port. The first arrival of the Europeans occurred in 1513 when the Portuguese ships sailed in search of spices.
