General Information:

"Fragrant Harbor" or Hong Kong is located on the eastern side of the Pearl Delta River and is one of the major administrative regions of the People's Republic of China. The city is an international hub of worlds trade and finance and is of the costliest and richest region of China. It covers an area of 1,104 square km with a population of 7,041,000.

The city enjoys a sub-tropical climate and during winters it is cool and dry. The city is quite prone to monsoons. Hong Kong consists of 18 administrative districts and it ranks 11th in the world as far its trade is concerned. It is a rich city with huge GDP. Eastern and western culture is mixed in this city and modern architecture can be viewed at the center of this city. In a nut shell, Hong Kong is a lovely city to visit and tourists' will gain a lifetime experience once they visit this city of wonders!

Tourist Attractions:

The Hong Kong Museum of Art is an important place to visit comprising of a collection of the native art and paintings.

The city is highly developed and hence has a wide network of transport which is quite sophisticated and costly. In the western and central region of this city, there is a system of escalators and side-walks. There are two railways in Hong Kong namely the Mass Transit railway and the Kowloon-Canton Railway. The northern area is served by trams and there are also double Decker buses running in the city. The ferry services are another major means of transport in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong International Airport connects the city with other domestic and international airports. An interesting fact that this city follows is that while the traffic in the rest of China drives on the right side, the traffic in Hong Kong drives to the left.

Shopping:
Visitors usually have a great shopping experience in Hong Kong. European and Chinese fashion flocks the market from the beginning till the end. Malls, departmental stores, varieties of boutiques are a regular feature in the markets. The major shopping areas are the Stanley Market and the Jade Market. There are also several stores that which sell herbal products and the shops are generally old fashioned. These types of shops are usually found long the Bonham Strand and the Bonham Strand West. The shops in these areas comprises of various pills, dried animals and plants.
