General Information:
Dushanbe, the capital city of Tajikstan is a charming tourist place emanating a perfect European flavor. Tajikistan Unified Museum fascinates with its animal exhibits and ex-Soviet memorabilia. The Ethnographic Museum offers a rich collection of traditional handicrafts. Short excursions can be made to the Adzhina-Tepe Buddhist monastery, Varzob Gorge health resort and Ramit Nature Reserves. Opera Ballet Theater and Firdowsi Library are other interesting places of visit.

Transportation:
The city has a comprehensive rail network. There are rail connections with Uzbekistan's Termez and Tashkent. The city is linked by roads to Kulab, Qurqanteppe, Khorog and Badakhsan. A travel by plane and helicopter is much more preferable than road transport modes due to city's hilly and mountainous landscape. Buses, taxis and cars are popular local transports. |
Shopping:
The Tajik markets facilitate wonderful shopping opportunities to the tourists. The traditional Tajik attires, souvenirs, jewelry, furniture and carpets are the popular purchases.
