General Information:
Pretoria is one of the most important cities in South Africa as it is one of the three official capitals of the country, the other two being Bloemfontein and Cape Town. Pretoria is the administrative center of the country and it is situated in the Gauteng Province, which incidentally one of the wealthiest province in South Africa. Being situated in the midst of the areas of Bushveld and Highveld, the city of Pretoria is located in the northeastern part of South Africa. The topography of the land is very fertile and it is well protected with hills and the climate here is warm and pleasant.

Tourist Attractions:
The major places of tourist's attractions in the city of Pretoria are the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa, where you get to see the koalas and many other birds and animals of South Africa. The Kruger House is also a historical place, which is the residence of Paul Kruger, the prominent personality who took an active part in the Boer war and put up stiff resistance against the British. The Voortrekker Monument is also a very popular site to visit in Pretoria. The monument is built of granite, which was designed by Gerald Moerdijk. He monument stands tall to tell the story of the "Great Trek" to the future. The Transvaal Museum is also quite an interesting place to visit in the city. The transport system in Pretoria may no be the best in South Africa but there are various alternatives that you can opt for in order to travel all across the city. The car rental facilities are found all round the city which are reliable and not very expensive. There are no international airports in Pretoria; so international passengers to the city have to avail the nearest Johannesburg airport before they can reach this city. Although the train service in the city is not at all satisfactory, but the Blue Train is one of the major attractions but it is very rare.

Shopping in Pretoria can be a very rewarding experience because from sprawling shopping malls to the flea markets, here you will find it all. The Menlyn Shopping center is the biggest and the most popular shopping center in Pretoria, where you will find all kinds of goods and articles, from fashion clothing to souvenirs. The major shopping area in Pretoria is in China Square, where you can look through the shops lined on the sides of the streets for the crafts and other souvenirs. Besides these, the Kolendale Shopping Center , the Menlyn Shopping Center and the Brooklyn Mall are also very popular shopping hubs in the city.

Like most of the major cities in South Africa, Pretoria also has quite a few good places, which can provide you with accommodation in the city. The Sheraton Pretoria Hotel and Towers, the Madikwe River Lodge, the Morula Sun, Hotel Boulevard and the Umlani Bush Camp are some of the major names in the business. Most of these are luxury hotels and are therefore expensive than the ordinary budget hotels. However, there are also standard and budget hotels in the city which you can opt for in the city.
