Ouagadougou

Ouagadougou is the capital of Burkina Faso. It is the largest city of Burkina Faso and encompasses population of more than ten millions. The city is the cultural, administrative and economic centre of the country. Burkina Faso's tropical climate has little relief from the heat, with dense humidity making things particularly squeamish from May to October.

The dusty and dry months yield days above 40 Celsius and sandy 'harmattan' winds blow continuously between December and February. The hottest time of the year is between March and June when the mercury can rise well above forty degree in the capital.

The city enjoys prime location as is well connected with railway links, highways and is very near to the River Niger. Ouagadougou is full of entertainment facilities like cinemas, nightclubs, and different centers of American, French and Zaka culture.

Ouagadougou Grand Market is one of the largest market in West Africa. National Museum of Burkina Faso, MoroNaba Palace, National Museum of Music and several crafts markets are popular destinations for the tourist. There are also urban parks - Parc Urbain Brang-Weoogo, and L'Unite Pedagogique.

Tourist Attractions:

Naba Koom is statue of woman six meter in height, facing the railway station to welcome the Tourist to Ouaga.

Jardin de l'amitie Ouaga- Loudun is the garden of friendship in the middle of the town.

La Place du Grand Lyon is a monument to manifest the relationship between Ouagadougou and Lyon in France. It is near the French cultural center.

A zoo, Parc Animalier de Ziniare is located at a distance of 30 Km east of the city and can be taken to be one of the most popular attractions of the city.

Musee de Manega exhibits all the traditional musical instruments of the country, 55 Km northwest of the city.
