General Information:
Mbabane is the capital city of Swaziland on the southern part of Africa. The small city of Mbabane offers spectacular scenic views with the Mbabane River, Polinjane River and the majestic Mdimba Mountains. Flanked by the Dlangeni Hills, Mbabane offers best idyllic views of rural Africa. The actual town of Mbabane was established near a cattle kraal that belonged to King Mbanzeni's region.

During the Boer administration in the 1890's Manjini was the capital city. It was the British people who transferred the capital to Mbabane after they succeeded in the Anglo-Boer war. The landscape is diverse with stunning mountains and savannah regions. Today Mbabane is a developed city and the country's major administrative and industrial center. According to 2003 census the city houses a population of 70000. The climate varies from tropical to temperate. It is now a town of widely separated districts, beautiful gardens and tree-shaded streets.

Tourist Attractions:
The government buildings on the Allister Miller and Walker Streets attract tourists with their magnificent structures. The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister attracts tourists with its fine Cape Dutch structure. The wonderful Pine Valley situated on the north of the town is a fantastic excursion spot.
Transportation:
Air services are available in Swaziland. Mbabane can be reached by local conveyances from the airport. Buses, taxis and minibus taxis are popular local transports. Minibus taxis run shorter routes at slightly higher prices than the buses. Car hire is available by the various car hire companies. There is a bus service from Mbabane to Maputo in Mozambique. Minibus taxis run between Jo'burg and Mbabane.

The Swazi Market at the south end of Allister Miller Street is a fabulous shopping center of Mbabane. Various regional crafts and artifacts like masks, basketwork and pottery make brisk sales in the markets.
