Antananarivo

Antananarivo is the capital city of Madagascar in Antananarivo province. Tana, as the city is adorably called as, exert unique French and Asian influence in its mansions, palaces and cobblestone alleys and staircases.

The Prime Minister's Palace in Manjakamiadana, the Astronomical Observatory in Antananarivo University, the Madagascar University and the Queen's Palace are the chief tourist attractions of Antananarivo. Zoological Park of Tsimbazaza exhibits an exclusive collection of animals and plants. Plateaux forests and the Pangalanes Canal are worth seeing. Antsirabe is one of the most beautiful towns in Madagascar. It contains an exquisite French spa. Various craft centers and vibrant markets dot the town.
